Vizada Showcases New Business Solutions

press release
Tuesday, November 08, 2011

Crew PC, new versions of Vizada XChange and SkyFile Mail optimize crew comms and business data management.

Vizada, an independent provider of global satellite-based mobility services, will showcase some of its newest updates and innovations in communications solutions for crew and optimization of business data at this year’s Europort in Rotterdam (November 8-11). Vizada and partner Marlink will be available at booth 3117 for the duration of the event. The recently-released Crew PC will be highlighted during the international maritime show. The Crew PC is a pre-configured onboard PC which connects to a satellite data terminal to provide instant plug-&-play access to data communications such as email, chat and internet access. The services run over a dedicated prepaid channel which keeps them secure and separate from business communications on board. Crew members benefit from the slim PC solution to reduce prepaid costs while the shipping company can securely monitor and control usage. In just a few short weeks since the launch of this service, Vizada has deployed over 50 Crew PCs with more than five different shipping companies and has many more orders lined up for the near future.

With the commercial success of Vizada XChange, the integrated solutions platform launched in May this year, Europort is an ideal opportunity to present its version 2. The all-in-one solution platform that provides voice, VoIP, data and internet services through an easily installed multifunctional box and intuitive web interface will offer several new features to improve general user experience and cost efficiency. To meet the increasing demand for remote maintenance, the new version will offer shipping companies a user-friendly shore portal to supervise communications or manage critical documents transfer to ships directly from the office on land. Vizada XChange version 2 will also enable IT managers to remotely access their onboard infrastructure via a secure connection as well as giving captains a redesigned communications dashboard. Automatic connectivity switching will help detect the most cost-efficient means of communication to help further reduce connection costs.

Vizada’s popular messaging solution, SkyFile Mail, has also recently undergone some important upgrades. Users will be happy to discover the enhancements and additional features of the new SkyFile Mail Premium software: compatibility with Microsoft Outlook or other email software to provide a familiar email environment and interface, extra-long SMS messages, extended data viewer to export CSV formatted files for mail records, and terrestrial access for connecting to SkyFile Mail from shore. These features will help increase usability for the crew and shipping company administration alike. For more information or to organize an interview with Vizada, please contact Tessa Voisin at +33 6 72 96 14 24 or by email at tessa.voisin@vizada.com.
