SEA Tankers report that communication has been lost with its product tanker 'M/T Gascogne' off the Ivory coast, W. Africa.

The France-based company state that it is in contact with the relevant authorities in the region with the objective of re-establishing communication with the vessel's crew. The safety of the crew and vessel remains the overriding priority.

The M/T Gascogne is a Luxemburg-flagged vessel built in 2004, SEA Tankers has 28 oil product tankships with an average age of 5 years, trading throughout Europe, West Africa and the Caribbean.
