Hub Group founder and Chairman Phillip C. Yeager was made a Doctor of Public Service after receiving an honorary doctorate from the Intermodal Transportation Institute (ITI) at the University of Denver, Colorado earlier this month. ITI recognized Yeager as a leader in the freight transportation industry and for his role in creating and building Hub Group, Inc. “This is a great honor,” Yeager said upon accepting his doctorate. HUB Group supports the higher education offered at ITI by sending eligible professionals from the company to the University of Denver campus to complete the ITI Executive Master’s Program, the only graduate program of its kind in intermodal transportation. Yeager founded Hub Group in 1971, and presided over the company’s growth in North America’s intermodal markets. Most recently, Hub expanded its intermodal services by acquiring Comtrak, Inc. headquartered in Memphis, Tenn. Yeager earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Cincinnati.
