North American Marine Jet Delivers Units

North American Marine Jet Inc. in Benton, AR has recently delivered the last two units of an 18 TRAKTOR JET-454HT (high thrust) unit contract to Yantai shipbuilder in China. The 14-meter steel hull is equipped with twin TJ-454HT (old name TJI-150) water jet units. The workboat will use in salt lake mining operation near Golmud, China. NAMJ's TJ-454HT waterjet was chosen over the standard high speed water jet manufactures, because of the high thrust per hp, very low maximum shaft rpm of 950 rpm, and we were able to constructed the units out of steel, so the units could be welded into the steel hulls. It was very important to the owner that the waterjets be the same materials as the boats so the protection and maintenance would be the easier. A standard aluminum jet would be impossible to protect with the salt content of the water being 10 times that of the ocean. The TJ-454HT is the same waterjet chosen for the 55 Swedish BEB craft over many Scandinavian jet manufactures. NAMJ has constructed our TJ-454HT out of steel in the past to meet the needs of our customers. If someone wanted one of our jets in Stainless steel we could build it for them, it is all about making the customers happy. They also supplied the TJ-454HT steel waterjets with an optional sealed grease lube tail bearing system, due to the high concentrate of debris the TRAKTOR JETS would be pumping thru the jets. The standard impeller clearance of the TRAKTOR JET is 3 to 5 times the clearances compare to a high-speed pump.
