Kotug Christens 3 Tugs

SNRH, the French subsidiary of the European tugboat company Kotug, christened three identical tugs in Le Havre during a ceremony which took place in front of their office at the beginning of this month.

Under the attention of the Dutch ambassador H.E. Mr. Siblesz, clients and port officials the three tugs, SD Seine, SD Loire and SD Gironde where christened respectively by Ms. Veronique Lepine of Hapag Lloyd, Mrs. Carole Collot-Parison of Mitsui OSK Lines and Mrs. Turid Kjeslvik wife of Mr Harald Kjelsvik of Höegh Autoliners.

With the addition of the SD Gironde the total fleet in Le Havre now consists of 6 tugs. The tugs were built by Med Marine at their yard in Eregli, Turkey. The 32 meters long and 60 tons strong tugs are equipped with two Wartsila 9L20C3 engines driving two Schottel SRP 1215 propulsion units. The tugs are completely outfitted for assisting seagoing vessels in port, coastal and deep sea towage and providing of fire fighting capability for the protection of ship and port facilities.
