Five Newbuildings for Hapag-Lloyd in 2007

Friday, December 29, 2006
In 2007, Hapag-Lloyd will integrate three newbuildings each capable of carrying 8,750 standard containers (TEU) as well as two vessels each of 4,250 TEU capacity into its fleet, enabling it to keep pace with the expected growth in global container transport. With the combining of services in the context of the integration of CP Ships, acquired at the end of last year, as well as the cascading of vessels in the various liner services, Hapag-Lloyd will be able to return 14 small chartered ships (1,100-2,500 TEU capacity) to their owners during 2007.
