Decommissioning for Nuclear Ship

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued a notice stating that it is seeking comments on the Post Shutdown Decommissioning Activities Report (PSDAR) for the Nuclear Ship Savannah. The ship was brought to power in 1961 and removed from service in 1970.  Final reactor shutdown occurred in November 1970 and defueling was completed in fall 1971.  Comments on the PSDAR should be submitted by February 13.  74 Fed. Reg. 4988  (January 28, 2009).
