AMOS Adds Ocean Ship Management

Tuesday, July 29, 2008

SpecTec Cyprus signed a new contract and welcomes a new AMOS customer, Ocean Ship

Management, based in Athens, Greece. AMOS Business Suite has been installed in the Ocean

Ship Management office and on board the first vessel, the MCP Athens. The next two vessels will

be delivered in 2009. Mini Container Pool, or MCP, is a commercial pool of the same-type of feeder vessels, and was founded in Cyprus in July 2005 by a small number of ship owners who decided to invest into a series of 630 TEU feeder vessels. The uniqueness of MCP is the availability of 27 exact sister vessels from one operator. The vessels have been delivered by the building yard in convenient intervals of three weeks commencing back in December 2006.

MCP is actively marketing the vessels for projects that would involve a large number, or even all

vessels in the same trade – to reap the benefits of operating sister ships. The ships will all be technically managed by management companies such as Ocean Ship Management and Österreichischer Lloyd Ship Management (Cyprus) Ltd., who signed earlier this year and manage 4 MCP vessels to guarantee consistent and a high level of technical expertise.
